Founder Chris Best spent 30 years in the Automotive Industry where he rose to the highest levels. A recognised technical expert and effective project director, he launched many new products including one of the earliest "drive by wire" digital electronic control systems. A renowned problem solver, he developed procedures manuals from the ground up and was a leading figure in the application of Quality Techniques in industrial situations.
Chris views engineering as part art and part science brought together for the purpose of making a profit. There is always more than one solution path available and we characterise them into "precisely approximate" and "approximately precise". Detailed and precise analysis is only appropriate when situations are stable and the input data accuracy and potential rewards will justify the costs and timescales needed. We always look to gain maximum benefit cost effectively in true Pareto style, or as we say "approximately precise".
Whilst most at home in Industrial settings, particularly precision engineering and volume manufacturing, we have acquired a wide range of expertise and contacts including television, transport, retail, telecoms sales, medical supplies and food production.
